Dwight Huffman Racing is proud to announce that Chris Phipps will make his return to North Wilkesboro Speedway in 2023 in the number 37 New River Building Supply & Lumber Company Pro Late Model.
Phipps will make his debut in the CARS Tour series after one prior Pro start at Hickory Motor Speedway to begin the year. Last August, Phipps drove the #37 Limited Late Model to a 6th and 4th place finishes in back-to-back nights of racing. Hoping the prior success carries over, DHR is excited to bring the team back together for a big night of racing in front of a sold-out crowd. Although Phipps has an advantage over most drivers in the field with his former experience at North Wilkesboro, making the 38-car field will still be a large task.
50 cars have entered into the Crossroads Harley-Davidson 75 on May 17th. Some notable entries include NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers of Carson Hocevar and Corey Heim, NASCAR driver Garrett Smithley, and IMSA Sports Car driver of Jordan Taylor (Rodney Sandstorm). Along with the NASCAR and IMSA drivers are talented short-track racers from across the country. From CARS Tour regulars, to Super Late Model stars, the Crossroads Harley-Davidson 75 will have some of the biggest competition of the year for Pro Late Model racing.
Tickets are still available for the CARS Tour events on Wednesday, May 17th, but they are selling out fast. Head to the North Wilkesboro website to purchase tickets and parking, or watch all of Wednesday's event live on FloRacing.
The Phipps Construction Pro Late Model will make its first laps on track Tuesday with three scheduled practice sessions. Two more practice sessions are on tap for Wednesday before qualifying at 5:15pm locks in the top 36 drivers, plus two provisional starters for the 75 lap main event at 8:00pm.
